Quality biodiesel from renewable energy sources.

Biodiesel is used as a substitute fuel and also by the oil industry to meet its biofuel quota.

ecoMotion produces biodiesel based on vegetable oils at its sites in Sternberg and Lünen. Rapeseed oil is the raw material and comes primarily from our own rapeseed mill in Sternberg or other local mills.

ecoMotion RME (rapeseed methyl ester) meets all the requirements of the EN 14214 standard.
The saving on greenhouse gas emissions achieved by this high-quality biofuel is 38% compared to fossil fuels (Annex V, Renewable Energy Directive).

The core process in biodiesel production is transesterification. In a chemical exchange reaction, the glycerine contained in rapeseed oil is replaced by methanol. This leads to the formation of fatty acid methyl ester (biodiesel) and glycerine.

Processing rapeseed at the ecoMotion mill in Sternberg results in approximately 100,000 tonnes of rapeseed cake in addition to the oil. This rapeseed cake is used in agriculture as high-quality feed.

Renewable energy sources conserve resources and combat climate change

Biofuel is derived from rapeseed oil in a sophisticated technical process which helps conserve natural resources and reduce CO2 emissions.
